The Sims 5 could be announced next month

It’s been eight years since The Sims 4 was released. This means that the fourth generation of Sims has worked longer than any other. And there have long been suspicions that a successor could be just around the corner. According to industry insider Jeff Grubb, it really shouldn’t be that long (as of minute 29):

On October 18th, the Sims developers are hosting a big live stream. Starting today, The Sims 4 base game will be available to everyone for free. As part of your live stream, you want to show what you’re currently working on. This is where EA’s language difference is very interesting: an official news release says it’s mainly about new content for The Sims 4. In the associated trailer, however, the language of “big announcements for The Sims” is – without explicit reference to a fourth generation Sims.

Jeff Grubb now wants to know that Sims 5 will be officially announced exactly for this live stream. However, he directly dampens hopes: it will be quite a while before the fifth generation of Sims appears. EA could thus publish a first teaser. As far as is known, the game is already in development. We’ve already compiled some key facts for you on our The Sims 5 info page.

So let’s be surprised what big announcements await us on October 18. It should be exciting for sure.
